The University of Genoa

The UniGe unit is composed of Fabrizio Coticchia, full professor of political science at the University of Genoa—who also serves as the Principal Investigator (PI) of the project—Giampiero Cama, full professor of political science at the University of Genoa, and Matteo Mazziotti di Celso, post-doctoral researcher at the University of Genoa. The group focuses on national political actors (parties, parliament, and leaders) and the Italian armed forces, contributing both to the development of the literature review and to the production of the empirical analysis of lessons learned in military operations.

Their analysis also includes an investigation into the influence of operational feedback in the decision-making process and the impact of the armed forces. Furthermore, the UniGe unit works on the supranational dimension, examining international constraints and the role of NATO. It also participates in the study of dynamic relationships between elites and public opinion in the context of Italian defense policy.
